Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information, which are downloaded to your computer, mobile or other device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device. You can find more information about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org and www.youronlinechoices.eu.
The Website only uses ‘performance cookies’ to collect information about how many visitors use the Website, which pages they go to most often and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies do not collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how the Website works.
By using the Website, you agree that we can place these types of cookies on your device.

The Website may contain links to websites operated by other parties. Hertford Museum does not control such websites and is not responsible for their content. Hertford Museum’s inclusion of links to such websites does not imply any endorsement of the material on such websites or any association with their operators.
9. We are not responsible for viruses and you must not introduce them
We do not guarantee that the Website will be secure or free from bugs or viruses.
You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform to access the Website. You should use your own virus protection software.
You must not misuse the Website by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, the server on which the Website is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the Website. You must not attack the Website via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use the Website will cease immediately.

These Terms & Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes will be decided only by the English courts.
If any provisions of these Terms & Conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable, the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions will not be affected.
Any failure of Hertford Museum to exercise or enforce any of its rights under these Terms & Conditions will not be deemed to be a waiver of any such rights or operate so as to bar the subsequent exercise or enforcement or any such rights.
