Sir George Faudel Phillips planting an oak at Old Cross, Hertford, Hertfordshire.He was Lord Mayor of London and was given the Freedom of the Borough of Hertford in Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee year, 1897. The tree planting was to commemorate the event.
