Wakerell, Albert Henry
photograph of A. H. Wakerell, framed in an ornate souvenir frame. Frame is made of bronze and wood with angel, two soldiers and flags depicted in relief. A small plaque on the frame has a partly illegble inscription which reads ‘….died in France Feb 12 1918 aged 24 years’. Albert lived at 2 Riverside, Folly Island, with his parents George and Ellen, older brother William and little sister Nillie. Prior to the war he worked as a labourer at McMullens seed warehouse. Albert served with the Bedfordshire Regiment and died of wounds in February 1918, aged just 24.
