Schools: Key Stage 1

SCIENCE: Animals

Amazing Animals!

Come and meet the family! Explore our Natural History collections and compare the structure of a variety of reptiles, birds and mammals. Using real specimens and observing them first-hand, this session is not to be missed.

HISTORY: Changes within living memory

Nelly’s Toy Box

Meet Nelly, the granddaughter of our museum founder, and her toys. Your class will play with real and replica historical toys and explore how toys really work!

HISTORY: Changes within living memory

Cinderella’s Helpers

Come and help Cinderella work out her tasks to keep the house spick and span! This session adds a valuable historical strand to your ‘Homes’ or ‘Food’ topic, with plenty of opportunity to handle artefacts, dressing up and role play!

HISTORY: Remembrance

Hertford’s Hero

Learn about Corporal Alfred Burt, a local man who was awarded the Victoria Cross during the First World War. Using costume, objects and documents, the session gives a sense of the local impact of a world conflict.
