There are many ways in which you and your classes can engage with Hertford Museum, by visiting the newly refurbished building itself, or by booking an outreach visit for your school.

| Where In The World | Using our African and world collections explore themes such as diversity, migration and citizenship. | KS1 & KS2 | No |
| Hertford's Home Front | A hands-on session exploring the lives of ordinary people in wartime Hertford, with real objects, documents and photographs. | KS2 & KS3 | Yes |
| Fossils | Handle objects that are over 150 million years old with fun quizzes and games. | FS, KS1 & KS2 | Yes |
| Archaeology Detectives | Explore the archaeology collections now on display in Hertford Museum and take part in a 'blanket dig'. | KS1 & KS2 | Yes |
The ideas for these sessions came from consultation with local teachers and are open to change depending on your feedback.
Session costs
Sessions at the museum cost £1.50 per child for SG13 & SG14 schools, and £2.50 per child for all other schools.
Outreach is charged are £50 per hour, with travel to and from your school subsidised by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
